Welcome To Maharat

"Maharat Foundation" or "Skills Foundation" is a team comprised of young journalists who have worked together for a while and experienced on-the-ground difficulties and obstacles with which free journalism is faced in Lebanon and the Arab world. They are united in a common aspiration to a freer journalism and a much more democratic society. They consider that there is no way to enroot the idea of peace unless through democracy - which was violated in times of peace as in times of war. The Maharat team has seen during its practical experience the shortage in training tomorrow's journalists to follow up on the development of the profession around the globe such as investigation, performance, technological development, commitment to a moral criteria and international concepts of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Thus, they have decided to achieve a series of goals through accomplishing numerous projects.
